Background

What a privilege it has been to meet & know so many kinds of people over the years! I love this work, and it’s my hope that my deep interest in people and relationships is apparent. I’m a nerd by nature; always reading a research article or finding something new to learn about. I’ve always been fascinated by people; what makes them hurt or happy or behave in different ways, and so working with people was my path from a young age.

I've spent many years learning and working in the mental health field. I've worked with children with special needs in equine-assisted therapy, with teens in a shelter-setting, with young adults in college counseling, with women experiencing domestic violence, and with people of all ages in community outpatient treatment. These experiences have brought me to my practice in our community.

I studied Human Development and Family Studies at Penn State and followed that by earning a Master's in Counseling Psychology at Eastern University. By meeting rigorous requirements set by the Commonwealth of PA, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). This license ensures that I regularly continue my education and training and have no ethical violations. I also hold a certificate as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), which means I'm regularly engaging in training related to trauma treatment and research.

When I’m not working, I'm usually walking the dogs, hitting the gym (and, recently, pickleball lessons!), or with my husband and 2 kids. Together, we spend most of our time exploring, trying new things, and enjoying our friends and family.
