Since the beginning of time, we've needed relationships. To protect us, provide for us, comfort us.
Today, relationships are more complicated. You're expected to be a best friend, a caretaker, an entertainer, a therapist, a teacher, a cheerleader.
What if you never even learned how to take good care of yourself??
It's a juggling act... anda ball will drop.
What does that ball represent for you?
Couples Counseling
Couples often arrive to counseling many years into their dysfunctional habits. You may be struggling to talk to or understand each other, disillusioned by the past, or anxious about the future.
Couples are often in gridlock by the time they start the work of therapy and that's ok. Our work together will allow you to lower the temperature, take a breath, and state what is important to you.
With time and support, the goal for our work is for you to see each other in new ways. Very often partners will hear important stories, ideas, hopes, or fears from their loved one that they've never heard before! This is new information! New information helps us create new futures. Couples work can be like a home renovation; ripping out the old junk, making a mess, and putting it all back together stronger and better than before.
